an intimate motherhood session with cathy at sunday sunday studio

WHERE: SUNDAY, SUNDAY STUDIO IN MARKHAM

The beautiful part about family sessions is the opportunity to watch families grow — I first met Cathy and her family back in early December and it’s amazing to see how much can change in just a few months. This was a surprise session for Cathy and I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to capture some sweet moments for this family of four!

Whenever I have a session, I typically like to prepare a shot list and mood board to help set the tone for the experience. But with family sessions, there’s something beautiful about letting moments unfold, and simply embracing the chaos. There is really only one question that matters after every family session: “When you look back at these photos, what are three words to describe how you want to feel?” Often, people just want to encapsulate the feeling of joy and love they have for each other. And for as long as you focus on those emotions, how we get there doesn’t really matter. In other words, don’t ever worry about your kids running around or them not wanting to sit still in front of the camera — at the end of the day, I’m here to capture the rawness of it all —all the boundless energy, the excitement, the rollercoaster of emotions, the chaos. It’s about the pure love you have for each other.
